Modern Slavery Statement

Financial year ending 2025 | Published March 2025

This statement is published by CT1998 LTD (trading as StaffSupply UK), Company No: 16267505, in accordance with our commitment to transparency and ethical business practice. It covers the steps we take to identify and address the risk of modern slavery and human trafficking in our operations and supply chain.

1. Our Organisation

StaffSupply UK is the trading name of CT1998 LTD, a B2B labour supply business registered in England and Wales. We source, manage, and deploy workers to recruitment agencies, construction firms, and businesses across the United Kingdom. Our operations are based in the UK and we work exclusively within the UK labour market.

As a labour supply business, we recognise that the staffing and recruitment sector carries an inherent risk of exposure to labour exploitation. We take this responsibility seriously and have implemented measures to mitigate these risks at every stage of our operations.

2. Our Supply Chain

Our supply chain in the context of this statement includes:

  • Workers: the individuals we source, onboard, and supply to client businesses
  • Sub-contractors and sourcing partners: any third parties we engage to assist in worker sourcing or management
  • Service providers: organisations supplying us with operational, technology, or professional services

We prioritise UK-based supply chains and prefer to engage directly with workers without intermediary layers where possible, reducing the risk of exploitation going undetected.

3. Our Policies

StaffSupply UK maintains the following policies relevant to the prevention of modern slavery and labour exploitation:

Right-to-Work Policy

All workers are subject to right-to-work checks before deployment, in compliance with the Immigration, Asylum and Nationality Act 2006.

Fair Pay Policy

All workers receive at least the National Minimum Wage or National Living Wage, with holiday pay and statutory entitlements paid correctly.

Worker Welfare Policy

Workers are made aware of their rights, have access to payslips, and are not subject to unlawful deductions from wages or coercive working conditions.

Reporting Policy

Any concerns about exploitation or trafficking can be raised directly with StaffSupply UK management or reported anonymously to the Modern Slavery Helpline (0800 0121 700).

4. Due Diligence

We conduct the following checks and processes to identify and manage modern slavery risks:

  • Worker onboarding: face-to-face or video-verified identity and right-to-work checks for all workers before deployment
  • Payroll integrity: all worker payments are made directly to the worker's own bank account — no third-party payment arrangements are permitted
  • Accommodation review: we do not arrange or profit from worker accommodation, and we are alert to signs that workers may be subject to tied housing
  • Sub-contractor assessment: any sub-contractors or labour sourcing partners are assessed for compliance practices before engagement
  • Ongoing monitoring: workers are encouraged to raise concerns at any time, and our operational team maintains regular contact throughout placements

5. Risk Assessment

The sectors in which we operate — including construction, logistics, and hospitality — are identified by the Government and the Gangmasters and Labour Abuse Authority (GLAA) as carrying elevated risk of labour exploitation. We acknowledge this and incorporate it into our operational processes.

Key risk indicators we monitor include: signs of document control by a third party, workers unable to speak freely, evidence of deductions from wages for travel or accommodation, workers sharing transport and accommodation in unusual patterns, and workers appearing fearful or evasive.

Any such indicators are treated as serious concerns and escalated immediately.

6. Training and Awareness

All staff involved in worker recruitment, onboarding, and placement are made aware of the signs of modern slavery and the reporting obligations that apply. We promote awareness of the Modern Slavery Helpline (0800 0121 700) among our workforce and operational teams.
